Big-Bet poker: refers to No-Limit of Pot-Limit betting style, by opposition to Limit.

Blind: the blinds are forced bets posted by players to the left of the dealer button in flop-style poker games. The number of blinds is usually two, but can be one or three (Wikipedia). In some places, the button also posts a blind, but it has become quite rare nowadays.

Continuation Bet: in community-cards games, the term continuation bet refers to a bet made on the flop by the last preflop raiser. See also this article.

Implied Odds: the extra money you rate to make after you have made your hand.

the Nuts: the best possible hand in function of the board cards.

Outs: when currently behind in a poker hand, an out is a card that would allow you to outdraw your opponent on the next street. Example, you hold in TExas Hold'em. The board is , and your opponent holds . Any diamond on the Turn would give you a winning hand. You thus have 9 outs.

Passive: said of a player who plays his hands passively, mostly checking and calling.

Playing blind: playing poker without looking at your holecards.

Pocket Rockets: a pair of Aces. Term normally used by Texas Hold’em players.

Pot-Limit: a betting structure where bets cannot exceed the size of the pot.
